A little backstory πŸ“–
PARTΒ 01. In the beginning // Intro to tech
Graduating with a film degree from UT Austin, I fully intended to pack up my bags and pursue my dream of being a Production Designer in LA. Unexpectedly during senior year, I stumbled into a data entry job. While I never intended to work in the tech industry, I discovered that I loved juggling all the hard challenges of working at a small startup. So I changed paths, building up my tech skills and doing everything from data entry to e-commerce operations and then to project management.

I thought I had it all figured out..
PART 02. Learning the startup ropes // brief foray into Project Management
While solving problems and working with different tech teams on a daily basis was engaging and rewarding, there was still something missing. The urge to create, design, and tell stories wasn't being fulfilled. So I did some research about how I could marry my passions and discovered that creative design + problem solving + tech = user experience design.

And then everything changed..
PART 03. Journey back to Design.. but for digital products!
I spent a year completing Bloc's rigorous, 800+ hours UI/UX Design & Frontend certification course and then landed a job doing product design! (yay) For the last 5 years, I've been honing my skills in creating digital products and growing a company that wants to help address the skills gap between industry employers, job seekers, and educational institutions.

It was meaningful and important work, but now I'm ready for a new adventure!
tldr; went to film school to learn set design β†’ got a tech job by chance (2yrs exp) β†’ got into Project Management (3yrs exp) β†’ found that I missed designing so I did some soul searching and found UX/Product Design (5yrs exp) πŸ™Œ
So what's next for me? Β πŸ‘€

I want to utilize my skills to make a positive impact in people's lives. I believe that design is a universal language and we can use it as a tool to solve problems and bring people together by creating intentional and meaningful experiences.

I'm currently based in πŸ“Austin, TX but I can work anywhere there is internet.
